This workshop aims to liberate the creative imagination of each participant to give form to ideas, songs, and texts through music, theatre, or dance. Interpretation demands a vibrant synthesis of mind and spontaneity – technical control and expressive freedom. The art is the ability to discern, make choices, and accept one’s limitations in face of the wealth of material that may emerge during the research process. Please send a brief CV and a letter of motivation.
PROGRAMME
I – Source and Expansion:
Daily sessions begin with a progressive physical preparation based on different
techniques, which encourage a free and dynamic release of the breath, voice, and body :
articulation of the spinal column, pelvis, rib cage, etc., as well as a fluid and inventive relationship to the moving body in space.
II – Individual Voice work in small groups.
Individual voice work is both technical and expressive, adapting to each participant’s experience, needs, and dreams. The aim is for each participant to discover and enrich her/his/their vocal registers, as well as creating a firm foundation from which to explore and create. Time is given to explore unknown timbres and textures, and their relationship to singing, text, and emotion. The wildness of raw voice will be encouraged and explored, as well as the subtle flexibility and nuance of the melodic voice.
III – Preparation of material and Interpretation
The first three afternoons will be dedicated to the preparation of the artistic material brought by each participant, with particular attention to the musical level of each participant. The last three afternoons will be given to the interpretation of the material. This is individual work with the support of the group.
IV – Group singing
The day will end with the whole group together in either polyphonic singing or group improvisations.
Please send a copy of the music, composition, or text that you have learned by heart to Linda Wise: linda@pantheatre.com no later than a week before the workshop begins.

When I was 19, I met a man who changed the direction of my life. Was it the man? Was it his philosophy? I can only say that this meeting formed the prima materia of my own work – and introduced me to the idea that Art is also a transformational life process.

I love sound, its vibration and the effect it has on our minds and souls. I feel in continuous movement, attentive and listening to what the voice and the body can tell us and reveal. I believe in the necessity of generating spaces of trust and security to open up, to listen, explore, tune in, express and share with others in order to unleash the vocal, musical and human potential of each person.

Listening. This is where I feel at home and where my personal research and work starts from. How do I hear myself/the others? How do I listen to myself/the others?
I include the piano in my work, understanding this instrument as a second voice.
