Please note all workshops outside of Malérargues are organized independently of the Centre Artistique International Roy Hart.
Workshop Description:
The Summer University is an invitation to interdisciplinary artists of all levels who want to find a deeper connection to their voice – in order to include the voice into their own practice! It is led by three voice teachers who work in the tradition of Alfred Wolfsohn and Roy Hart.
One of the key skills in this tradition is the development of a high level listening ability, which is focused on the potentials of each human voice – in order of heading towards the extended and border breaking expression. Starting with this idea of open listening the three teachers have created their individual approach towards a contemporary vocal art.
The summer university offers the chance to engage with a wide and multifaceted range of experiences with the human voice and its use in art. Participants are asked to bring their own project, questions, ideas.

My philosophy is to allow the whole person’s potential to be expressed within a creative process and to transform this into a performance ('per-formare'), touching both heights and depths. For me, it is about giving space for the unloved, unrecognized, unincluded aspects of the personality, and creating for them a place of joy and respectful acceptance. This work is for all humankind.

Listening. This is where I feel at home and where my personal research and work starts from. How do I hear myself/the others? How do I listen to myself/the others?
I include the piano in my work, understanding this instrument as a second voice.
