Susanne Weins

Performance Artist, Alexander Technique teacher
Lives in Düsseldorf, Germany
Worked with the Roy Hart Theatre (before 1991)
Roy Hart Voice Teacher since 2001

My philosophy is to allow the whole person’s potential to be expressed within a creative process and to transform this into a performance (‘per-formare’), touching both heights and depths. For me, it is about giving space for the unloved, unrecognized, unincluded aspects of the personality, and creating for them a place of joy and respectful acceptance. This work is for all humankind.

Susanne Weins was born in Düsseldorf, Germany. She studied in Folkwang Academy in Essen (Music, Movement and Rhythm, with Émile Jaques-Dalcroze), and at Rhein-Ruhr Bochum University (Speech and Voice Sciences).

She is a free-lance artist in voice and movement. She also works in High-Schools and Tanzhaus-nrw. She created several performance groups: Cox-orange B-cup, Haus der Performancekunst. She was guest performer in several theatre productions. She became a mother in 2009. In 2012, she created her own Research Atelier Performing Arts.

She teaches voice in Malérargues and elsewhere. As a performer, director and voice and movement facilitator, she has been involved in many performances.
Susanne Weins has trained with Marita Günther, Robert Harvey, Jonathan Hart Makwaia, Rosemary Quinn.
She speaks German, English and a little French.
