I believe that the voice work gives students the possibility to discover their authentic voices. In connecting the body and the voice, I feel that a self-awareness develops that gives life a fuller expression. An awareness of self gives a better awareness of others and fosters relationships of a profound nature.

The voice has the magic of things that cannot be labelled, that escape classifications.
My voice, if the voice has an owner, is constructed and deconstructed in relation, always in relation.
In relation to what surrounds me, in relation to the other, be it a person, a landscape, a fly.
Learning to accept all the nuances of the voice. Understanding that all expressive variations are part of a great vocal ocean, rich and diverse and that everything is my voice. There are parts of the ocean that I visit more often and others only from time to time.
Working with the voice has helped me to delve deeper and navigate better in the terrain of emotions, relationships, and in some way in the meaning of existence.
Malerargues is a place where my voice has had the opportunity to express myself freely, where my voice has been validated and valued no matter what vocal form it took. I am eternally grateful to Carol Mendelsohn for her applause for my chicken sounds.

    Students are accommodated in simple but comfortable shared rooms with two, three or four beds, shared bathrooms and two fully-equipped kitchens. Sheets and blankets are provided.

    1) we do not have single, private room
    2) we do not make or take reservations for participants lodging outside the Centre
    3) for residencies and longer stays it may be possible to rent appartments in the Château – these too also get booked early for the summer. More info HERE

    Workshop enrolment is confirmed only upon receipt of deposit.

    • Upon submission of the enrolment form below, a deposit of 120 euros per workshop is required, as well as payment in full for accommodation. Please pay your deposit within four days or enrolment will be automatically cancelled. Accommodation bookings will only be taken into account once payment has been received.
    • Unless otherwise specified, workshop fees do not include meals. Shared kitchens are available for the use of workshop participants.
    • For a refund in the event of cancellation, the deadline for withdrawing from a workshop is 30 days before the workshop is scheduled to begin. A €30 administrative fee will be charged for all cancellations. We regret that deposits are non-refundable within 30 days of the first day of a workshop.
    • In the event of low enrolment, the centre reserves the right to cancel a workshop and any deposit can be transferred to another workshop, or fully refunded.
    • The Centre Artistique International Roy Hart is an association under French law and all workshop participants must therefore be members. The annual membership dues are €30.
