During this workshop, elements of Contact Dance will be integrated into the Roy Hart Centre voice work. In both those approaches there is a focus on listening with confidence to your own body, to others, and to the space. This allows for dialogue without words, with our voices and bodies – alone, in duos, in chorus…

You will be singing, sounding, dancing, improvising in physical contact with others, with respect for the  “yes” and “no” in the contact. You will deepen the awareness of body sensations, listen to your bodily impulses and explore your own voice. You will discover how body movements impact voice expression and vice versa. We will sing to those dancing and dance for those singing, developing listening and musicality.

Each day will include warm-up, small group piano lessons and creative sessions.
On Saturday evening we will have a jam session with sounds, dance and music.

Tuesday: 9h30-12h30 & 14h30- 17h30
Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday : 9h30-13h & 15h- 18h.

    Students are accommodated in simple but comfortable shared rooms with two, three or four beds, shared bathrooms and two fully-equipped kitchens. Sheets and blankets are provided.

    1) we do not have single, private room
    2) we do not make or take reservations for participants lodging outside the Centre
    3) for residencies and longer stays it may be possible to rent appartments in the Château – these too also get booked early for the summer. More info HERE

    Workshop enrolment is confirmed only upon receipt of deposit.

    • Upon submission of the enrolment form below, a deposit of 120 euros per workshop is required, as well as payment in full for accommodation. Please pay your deposit within four days or enrolment will be automatically cancelled. Accommodation bookings will only be taken into account once payment has been received.
    • Unless otherwise specified, workshop fees do not include meals. Shared kitchens are available for the use of workshop participants.
    • For a refund in the event of cancellation, the deadline for withdrawing from a workshop is 30 days before the workshop is scheduled to begin. A €30 administrative fee will be charged for all cancellations. We regret that deposits are non-refundable within 30 days of the first day of a workshop.
    • In the event of low enrolment, the centre reserves the right to cancel a workshop and any deposit can be transferred to another workshop, or fully refunded.
    • The Centre Artistique International Roy Hart is an association under French law and all workshop participants must therefore be members. The annual membership dues are €30.
