Description:
“Mario Forte and the North Sea String Quartet” was born from the meeting between
Mario Forte, international award-winning jazz violinist based in New York City, and the NS String quartet from the Netherlands. Their meeting took place at
the heart of the Seifert String Workshop in Poland in 2017, during which Mario – then a teacher during the workshop – gave a course to the quartet. The encounter gave birth to an unparalleled musical complicity, inspiring these 5 young musicians of the current jazz scene to develop a common project together featuring a very eclectic and rare repertoire rooted in personal compositions.
