A report by local media station Télédraille filmed in June 2024, during the celebration week of the 50th anniversary of the arrival of the Roy Hart Theatre in Malérargues.

“Il y a tout juste 50 ans, entre juillet 1974 et mars de l’année suivante, 49 membres du Roy Hart Theatre ont déménagé de Londres à Malérargues au coeur des Cévennes. Essentiellement axé autour du travail de la voix, l’enseignement du Roy Hart est fondé sur la connexion profonde qui existe entre la voix et l’âme humaine.”

Just 50 years ago, between July 1974 and March of the following year, 49 members of the Roy Hart Theatre moved from London to Malérargues in the heart of the Cévennes. Focusing primarily on voice work, the Roy Hart’s teaching is founded on the deep connection that exists between the voice and the human soul.

Lucienne Deschamps, Ian Magilton, Stephen Rivers-Moore, Julien Martin, Ivan Midderigh, Béatrice David, and Siobhán McCann met with the reporter to tell their stories and introduce him to Malérargues.
