Workshop Description:
LIBERE. EXPLORE. APLIQUE
Free your voice to sing a melody or simply to let a sound speak for itself.
Group vocal exploration classes for all ages in Paris.
I am a teacher at the Roy Hart Centre and my approach to voice is in the tradition of the Roy Hart Voice Centre, the Pantheatre company and my background in dance, theatre and singing.
We will be working in three main areas, exploring the links between :
– Body and voice.
– Musicality and singing.
– The voice and words.
Do you want to work on your voice?
Do you want to feel more comfortable with your speaking and singing voice?
Do you want to find and share your voice with others?
The aim is first and foremost to free the sound and explore in search of YOUR VOICE. By connecting with our voice and sharing it with others, we will transform the vibration and sound into a melody, song, vocal improvisation or text.
In my classes, there’s a climate of trust that combines high standards, listening skills and clarity about vocal work with a sensitive exploration that requires the involvement of each participant. I invite everyone to be an active agent in the work through group exercises, comments and active listening.
AND IN CONCRETE TERMS, WHAT WILL I FIND?
A singing class where we move.
We sing, but it’s not a singing class.
We talk and work with texts, but it’s not an acting class.
Sound is the protagonist.
Sometimes we roll on the floor and scream.
Sometimes we say a text without moving.
Other times, we work on listening and the subtlety of sound.
There are pragmatic moments and experimental moments.
A space for research that is both technical and sensitive.
A place to explore and give practical help in releasing the vocal potential that we all have and which can become a powerful and effective means of expression on stage and off.
Here, we don’t judge sounds and we teach you not to judge them.
There is no ONE right voice.
There is no ONE model of beauty.
It’s all about finding YOUR voice.
Who is it for?
Anyone who feels the need to explore their voice, develop their vocal possibilities and/or deepen their practice.
Let the sound resonate in your body to sing, express yourself better or simply for the pleasure of getting to know and develop your voice.
