Hours: Saturday 2 pm/6.30pm & Sunday 9.30 am/12 am & 2pm/4.30 pm

Objectives :

– Become aware of your breathing and develop the breath-body-voice link.

– Connecting to your body sensations in relaxation and letting go

– Broaden the palette of your voice: timbres, colors, resonance, registers…

– Travelling and improvising with your voice, around the imagination and emotions

– Develop your own listening skills

– Sing with confidence taking your place in the group in the pleasure of sharing and giving.

Contents :

– Body exercises, relaxation, massages, anchoring…

– Breathing opening exercises and vocal warm-up

– Vocal games, individual or collective improvisations, work on the imaginary.

– Exercises on space and movement

– Learning simple songs

Provide flexible clothing for body work. We work without shoes, on a wooden floor: barefoot, in dancing shoes or socks. Beginners, advanced singers and voice professionals are welcome and our approach means that everyone will find the right shoes for them!  Thank you for registering as soon as possible, to facilitate our organization (the workshop will be cancelled in case there is less than 4 participants).

For me, the philosophy of the Roy Hart voice work lies in listening to and observing the totality of the person who is expressing; taking the risk to be fully in the moment and following our intuitions. It is to give confidence to the student so s/he will dare to venture into places within him or herself, and into qualities of the voice perhaps not yet known, while taking pleasure in this exploration. It is to open a field of possibilities and to welcome the many personalities, voices and energies of which we are comprised. Finally, it is to appreciate beauty wherever it resides.

    Students are accommodated in simple but comfortable shared rooms with two, three or four beds, shared bathrooms and two fully-equipped kitchens. Sheets and blankets are provided.

    1) we do not have single, private room
    2) we do not make or take reservations for participants lodging outside the Centre
    3) for residencies and longer stays it may be possible to rent appartments in the Château – these too also get booked early for the summer. More info HERE

    Workshop enrolment is confirmed only upon receipt of deposit.

    • Upon submission of the enrolment form below, a deposit of 120 euros per workshop is required, as well as payment in full for accommodation. Please pay your deposit within four days or enrolment will be automatically cancelled. Accommodation bookings will only be taken into account once payment has been received.
    • Unless otherwise specified, workshop fees do not include meals. Shared kitchens are available for the use of workshop participants.
    • For a refund in the event of cancellation, the deadline for withdrawing from a workshop is 30 days before the workshop is scheduled to begin. A €30 administrative fee will be charged for all cancellations. We regret that deposits are non-refundable within 30 days of the first day of a workshop.
    • In the event of low enrolment, the centre reserves the right to cancel a workshop and any deposit can be transferred to another workshop, or fully refunded.
    • The Centre Artistique International Roy Hart is an association under French law and all workshop participants must therefore be members. The annual membership dues are €30.
