Joni Mitchell in Jerusalem

A tribute concert to the great singer and songwriter Joni Mitchell

With:
Haim Isaacs

Description:
1976. Joni Mitchell is always there, behind H’s left shoulder. She follows him through the streets of Jerusalem, Jericho, and Bethlehem, and across the Sinai desert. In his wanderings, H sings her aboriginal-like songlines

2022. Joni Mitchell lies ever in wait for H, behind every tree, behind every note of music. H sings her on stage and tells her story.

A child of the Canadian prairies, Joni Mitchell composes, writes, sings, plays guitar and piano. She produces her own records: folk, pop, and jazz. Joni Mitchell questions form and reshapes it. Her collaborators are Jaco Pastorius, Brandon Marsalis, Herbie Hancock, and Charles Mingus. In her musical fallow periods, she paints. In her pictorial fallow periods, she makes music.
