Douglas MacArthur

Secretary of the Board of Directors.

Doug MacArthur is a professional actor, voice teacher, dialect coach, and Professor of Theatre & Dramatic Arts at the University of Lethbridge, Canada where he teaches voice and speech.

He graduated from York University with an MFA in Acting along with a Voice Teaching Diploma. During the spring of 2000 and 2001 he worked as an associate faculty member at the Canadian National Voice Intensive.

Doug is also the producer, director and co-founder of the independent theatre company, The Third Eye Collective. He was instrumental in the creation of the Samish Island Festival of Arts in Washington State and returns each year to share his passion for acting and voice at the festival as a guest instructor.

He has participated in numerous stage productions in Canada and the United States.

Doug is a long-time collaborator and student of the Roy Hart Centre voice work. He is a member of the Advanced Pedagogic Group, a volunteer for ArcheCOM, the committee dedicated to the preservation and digitization of the Wolfsohn, Hart and Roy Hart Theatre archives, and an original cast member of the 2019 production of Zauber, directed by Ian Magilton and inspired by Mozart’s The Magic Flute.

Doug joined the Board of Directors and was elected Secretary in 2023.
