A soulful journey through sound, melody and movement exploring how to develop the relationship between your voice and the song you sing. As raw material please choose a song dear to you and that you know by heart. Connecting to our voice’s intuition, we’ll improvise to enrich this material with surprising colours.  Often we place our favourite songs on an impossibly high pedestal, holding our vocal dreams far out of reach. Here we’ll travel with our songs and playfully break their authority, to test the boundaries of their structures.  We’ll work a cappella, free to follow our voice’s sense of timing and to feel the fullness of our sound in the space. Now you can ask yourself some essential questions: Why did I choose this song? What can I bring to it, and what can it bring out of me?  Finally you will make new choices, to deepen and shape a unique and intimate artistic offering. Through both personal material as well as collective songs proposed by the teachers, you’ll find space to tune into your authentic voices. We’ll experience singing from your voice’s full range of creative possibilities, as the most revealing expression of who we are as artists and as people. The workshop includes physical preparation with Movement and Yoga, individual lessons and group work.

    Students are accommodated in simple but comfortable shared rooms with two, three or four beds, shared bathrooms and two fully-equipped kitchens. Sheets and blankets are provided.

    1) we do not have single, private room
    2) we do not make or take reservations for participants lodging outside the Centre
    3) for residencies and longer stays it may be possible to rent appartments in the Château – these too also get booked early for the summer. More info HERE

    Workshop enrolment is confirmed only upon receipt of deposit.

    • Upon submission of the enrolment form below, a deposit of 120 euros per workshop is required, as well as payment in full for accommodation. Please pay your deposit within four days or enrolment will be automatically cancelled. Accommodation bookings will only be taken into account once payment has been received.
    • Unless otherwise specified, workshop fees do not include meals. Shared kitchens are available for the use of workshop participants.
    • For a refund in the event of cancellation, the deadline for withdrawing from a workshop is 30 days before the workshop is scheduled to begin. A €30 administrative fee will be charged for all cancellations. We regret that deposits are non-refundable within 30 days of the first day of a workshop.
    • In the event of low enrolment, the centre reserves the right to cancel a workshop and any deposit can be transferred to another workshop, or fully refunded.
    • The Centre Artistique International Roy Hart is an association under French law and all workshop participants must therefore be members. The annual membership dues are €30.
