Toni Cafiero studied drama at the Ecole Internationale de Théâtre Jacques Lecoq in Paris and set design at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bologna.

He is recognised for his work as a director in several countries, and as a lecturer at conservatoires and universities (Institut del Teatre Barcelona, Tearo Stabile di Torino e Piccolo di Milano, Ecole Nationale de Chaillot, New York University, Real Escuela de Madrid, Accademia Teatrale di Udine e Venezia…).

As a director, he has produced works for both theatre and opera.
