Lucienne Deschamps

Actress, singer, poet
Lives in Paris mostly but also London and Kent

Worked with Roy Hart and was part of the Roy Hart Theatre (before 1991)

Returning to Malérargues to teach voice yoga is a way for me to come full circle, giving back a little of what I’ve learned elsewhere too, and which echoes strongly our vocal research. Yoga means to connect. Vocal yoga, postures and voice, weave a deep connection between voice and body. The embodied voice allows emotion to express itself in the love of words which are music.

Roy Hart Theatre Founding member Lucienne Deschamps is an actress both on stage and screen. As a singer she interprets poets, preferably living ones, on stage and as a recording artist who has released four albums. She also enjoys improvising with contemporary musicians. She has been practising yoga for many years and taught hatha yoga. She has facilitated workshops and masterclasses for amateur and professional stage artists at the Manufacture Chanson in Paris, as well as coaching and giving master classes in voice yoga. Her poetry collection Fleury l’été was inspired by the workshops she led for prison inmates. With the Flying Seagulls Lucienne plays with refugee children, as a clown.

Lucienne has worked with Roy Hart and many other founding members of the Roy Hart Theatre.

She speaks French and English.
