Workshop Description:
Join us in an exploration of the heart of your voice, to a journey into yourself, welcoming the gifts of the unknown. Through the merging of dance and voice, we’ll explore our sensations, emotions, and the connection to ourselves and the others.
This two and a half days of workshop, will allow you to develop your vocal potential, and deepen the quality of listening to yourself and the others.
Program:
– Body and vocal warm-up.
– Group explorations of voice and dance.
– Theatrical improvisation in voice and dance.
– Individual work.
This course is based on the approach on the approach of Roy Hart’s voice work, together with the practice of movement of “Dansexpressie” (a Dutch method for creative dance).
In the Roy Hart work we deeply and intensely explore our voice, involving body, mind, and emotions. Our singing becomes the deep expression of our being.
Dance expression is our unique way of improvised dancing, based on proposed themes which inspire us [“Danspiration”]. We do not follow a demonstration, we rather shape our own dance, regardless of our physical abilities. Our creative process is stimulated by silence, voice and sound.
In Orly and Zwaantje’s workshop we will use both fundamental elements of the Roy Hart Theater Voice, and Dansexpressie.
