Workshop Description:
This workshop focuses on the notion of voice performance, its relationship to singing, musicality and musical composition, as well as the staging and mobility of the vocal body. The course covers music sung on stage, off stage, with instruments – including piano accompaniment. The course is professional in its demands and attitude.
It is not limited to professional musicians or stage performers, but brings the two together through vocal work.

Some of the working themes:
– Intense individual vocal work bringing together technique and expressivity – including Roy Hart’s practice and philosophy to the extended ranges of the voice.
– Rhythm training.
– Solo or group improvisation, with or without instruments, based on the notion of instant composition.
– Extension of each individual’s harmonic “language” – scales, modes, etc.
– Creation of short compositions which can include personal compostions or elements from “standards”.
– The notion of performance : stage presence, movement, the notion of “counterpoint” voice / music / movement in choreographic theatre.
Hours:
– 10 days of training – 50 hours
– Monday to Friday: 10:00 am to 1:00 pm + 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm
