What does it mean to be a song? Are you guiding the song or are you seduced by it? How do you move a song and transform it? How do you become one with your song and embody it more? How are you moved by a song? How do you move the one who listens? How do you let the body, the physical sensations, the imagination, the space, the group, influence your way of singing and free your vocal expression?
In the morning, we will explore the landscape of the human voice with a warm-up to prepare the body to sing. We will open the voice and find different colours, develop the art of listening to self and others, look for dynamic sources of sounds, and develop your vocal potential. In the afternoon, we will work on one song that you have brought and memorized and we will explore the expression, the connection with it, and different ways of approaching it in order to find emotion and ease in singing.

    Students are accommodated in simple but comfortable shared rooms with two, three or four beds, shared bathrooms and two fully-equipped kitchens. Sheets and blankets are provided.

    1) we do not have single, private room
    2) we do not make or take reservations for participants lodging outside the Centre
    3) for residencies and longer stays it may be possible to rent appartments in the Château – these too also get booked early for the summer. More info HERE

    Workshop enrolment is confirmed only upon receipt of deposit.

    • Upon submission of the enrolment form below, a deposit of 120 euros per workshop is required, as well as payment in full for accommodation. Please pay your deposit within four days or enrolment will be automatically cancelled. Accommodation bookings will only be taken into account once payment has been received.
    • Unless otherwise specified, workshop fees do not include meals. Shared kitchens are available for the use of workshop participants.
    • For a refund in the event of cancellation, the deadline for withdrawing from a workshop is 30 days before the workshop is scheduled to begin. A €30 administrative fee will be charged for all cancellations. We regret that deposits are non-refundable within 30 days of the first day of a workshop.
    • In the event of low enrolment, the centre reserves the right to cancel a workshop and any deposit can be transferred to another workshop, or fully refunded.
    • The Centre Artistique International Roy Hart is an association under French law and all workshop participants must therefore be members. The annual membership dues are €30.
